We're looking for a Catering Assistant to support the Market Catering Manager in answering phones and filling orders. The Catering Assistant has direct contact with guests, food and money.

Primary Functions:

• Greets and welcomes guests with a smile and enthusiasm.
• Answers the telephone and takes orders in a professional and courteous manner.
• Offers recommendations and additional options for orders
• Shops the market to fill specific phone orders
• Interacts with kitchen staff to ensure food orders are ready for pick up/delivery
• Assists to package order for pick up or distribution
• Completes transactions and processes payment
• Follow safety and health regulations at all times which includes proper use of equipment, wearing gloves, hats, proper refrigeration and temperature, and sanitation
• Resolves customer complaints with diplomacy
• Makes sure the workspace is clean and sanitized
• Perform all operations in accordance with facility SOPs
• Performs additional responsibilities as requested by management.

Required Skills:

• Phone etiquette and exceptional customer service skills
• The ability to work as a team in a fast-paced environment
• Communicate in English both written and verbal skills
• Basic math and computer skills
• Ability to follow direction, attention to detail
• Ability to work calmly and effectively under pressure.
• Must have problem solving abilities, be self-motivated, and organized.
• Commitment to quality service, and hospitality
• Previous experience in Food/Beverage, preferred
• Knowledge of point-of-sale (POS) systems a plus
• Availability to work weekends, holidays
• Ability to multitask

Physical Activities and Requirements of Working Conditions

• Ability to stand for long periods of time
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds
