Front Desk Manager

Sanibel, FL

The beautiful Sundial Beach Resort located on Sanibel Island, Florida is seeking a Front Desk Manager to join our team! 

The Front Desk Manager is responsible for overseeing all front office operations to insure profitability, control costs and quality standards ensuring total guest satisfaction. Acts as the main contact for guests and other hotel departments. Acts as Manager on Duty and respond to emergency codes. 

Management of Front Desk Team

  • Utilizes interpersonal and communication skills to lead, influence, and encourage others; advocates sound financial/business decision making; demonstrates honesty/integrity; leads by example.
  • Encourages and building mutual trust, respect, and cooperation among team members.
  • Serves as a role model to demonstrate appropriate behaviors.
  • Supports all day-to-day operations.
  • Coaches, counsels and encourages team members.
  • Handles team member questions and concerns
  • Guides daily Front Desk, PBX, Night audit operations and Bellperson.
  • Communicates performance expectations to team members in accordance with job descriptions for each position.  
  • Front Desk Staff Scheduling and Payroll control.
  • Manages day-to-day operations, ensuring the quality, standards and meeting the expectations of the guests on a daily basis.
  • Handles complaints, settling disputes, and resolving grievances and conflicts, or otherwise negotiating with others.
  • Scheduling department meetings and continually communicates a clear and consistent message regarding the goals to produce desired results.
  • Strives to improve service performance.
  • Supervises staffing levels to ensure that guest service, operational needs and financial objectives are met.
  • Trains staff on adherence to all credit policies and procedures to reduce bad debts and rebates.
  • Supervises same day selling procedures to maximize room revenue and property occupancy.
  • Understands the impact of Front Desk and reservations operations on the overall property financial goals and objectives.


 Ensuring Exceptional Customer Service

  • Provides services that are above and beyond for guest satisfaction and retention.
  • Improves service by communicating and assisting individuals to understand guest needs, providing guidance, feedback, and individual coaching when needed.
  • Sets a positive example for guest relations.
  • Empowers team members to provide excellent customer service within guidelines.
  • Handles guest problems and complaints.
  • Interacts with guests to obtain feedback on product quality and service levels.
  • Review and control of Trip Advisor and guest satisfaction results with team members.


    Qualifications, Education, Experience, Skills, and Abilities:

    • 2-3 years Rooms Management experience at Hotel/Resort.
    • Associate or Bachelor Degree preferred
    • Effective conflict management and decision-making is required.
    • Excellent organizational and time management skills
    • Excellent communication skills
    • Computer literate in Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook
    • Knowledge of Opera preferred
