Lead Cook
Job Summary:
Responsible for preparing food to the restaurant’s specification. Ensures the highest quality standards in timing, taste, and presentation. Maintains the kitchen areas clean and sanitized.
Responsibilities:
- Oversees the culinary operation and expedites as needed.
- Assists with the training of the cooks, helping team members to develop and improve their skill level
- Monitor the application of all food safety and sanitation procedures including preparation, temping, rotation, hand washing, personal hygiene and related processes to ensure complete compliance and safety of all food products.
- Reinforce standard operating procedures for kitchen organization, work flow processes and culinary practices, providing staff training and ensuring compliance to achieve consistent application.
- Ensure deliveries are properly put away daily and keep all areas clean and organized.
- Communicates between shifts and ensures adequate prep for the next shift.
- Monitors all coolers and holding areas for proper FIFO and ensures all items are labeled and dated
- Assists with the organization of ingredients, recipes and/or supplies to ensure consistency and an organized and efficient production of all menu items
- Ensure that the kitchen is properly cleaned at closing each night and assigns tasks to team members in the cleaning process including the fry station as guided by the chef
- Exhibits flexibility and emotional control when dealing with last minute changes and special requests
- Perform other duties as requested by management
Qualifications, Education, Experience, Skills, and Abilities:
- Friendly guest service personality and positive attitude exhibited at all times
- Knowledge of advanced cooking techniques with 5 years of progressive culinary experience in a high-volume restaurant setting.
- Serve safe certification
- Excellent communication skills

- Strong organizational and time management abilities
- Associate must be able to work independently, meet deadlines and handle multiple duties
