Assistant Housekeeping Manager

OCALA, FL

The Assistant Housekeeping Manager is responsible for supporting the daily shift operations of the housekeeping departments. This role ensures that property guestrooms, public spaces, and employee areas are clean, well maintained, and meet the highest standards of quality and cleanliness. The Housekeeping Assistant Manager conducts inspections, oversees staff performance, and enforces corrective actions to uphold property standards.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Assist housekeeping leadership in hiring, training, and supervising housekeeping staff.
  • Provide guidance, support, and feedback to team members to ensure high performance.
  • Schedule and assign duties to staff, ensuring adequate coverage for all shifts.
  • Conduct regular team meetings to communicate updates, policies, and goals.
  • Monitor and ensure cleanliness, safety, and maintenance standards in guest rooms, public 
  • areas, and back-of-house facilities.
  • Inspect rooms and common areas to ensure they meet standards.
  • Assist in managing inventory and ordering housekeeping supplies.
  • Implement and monitor efficient cleaning procedures and protocols.
  • Respond promptly and professionally to guest requests and complaints regarding 
  • housekeeping services.
  • Assist in preparing and maintaining budgets, forecasts, and labor.
  • Maintain records related to inspections, staff schedules, and inventory management.
  • Assist housekeeping leadership in maintaining positive employee relations to include 
  • coaching, counseling, employment status changes (transfer, promotion), on-going training, 
  • and development according to Columbus Hospitality’s Policy and Procedure. Ensure 
  • adherence to health, safety, and sanitation regulations.
  • Oversee preventative maintenance schedules and coordinate with the engineering team for 
  • repairs.
  • Maintain open and effective communication with the laundry department to manage inventory and 
  • supply levels of linens.
  • Train staff in proper handling and disposal of chemicals and cleaning materials.
  • Assist Housekeeping leadership in overseeing the scheduling to ensure adequate staffing is in 
  • place keeping within budget restraints and established productivity standards.
  • Collaborate with other departments, including Front Office, Food and Beverage, and Maintenance, to 
  • ensure seamless guest experiences.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by Management.
  • Maintain a flexible work schedule including Nights, Weekends, and Holidays.
