Cashier- Part Time
Job Summary: Cashiers greet customers as well as answer questions about products, their location in the store, services or other company policies and procedures. Cashiers accept payments from customers in the form of cash, credit or debit card, check or other forms of payment. They are the front line of customer interaction.
Essential Functions:
- Greet and interact with customers in a timely, friendly manner
- Process sales transactions
- Calculate the cost of products or services
- Accept payments
- Calculate and return change when required by the payment method
- Maintain adequate change denominations in the cash drawer and request additional change
- Answer customer questions about products or services
- Reconcile cash drawers and sales receipts
- Report issues with equipment
- Ability to calculate sales and make change quickly
- Accountability and accuracy in reconciling sales receipts
- Excellent customer-service and people skills
- Follow safety and health regulations at all times which includes proper use of equipment, wearing gloves, hats, proper refrigeration and temperature, and sanitation
- Perform all operations in accordance with facility SOPs
- Safe operation of all equipment.
- Resolves customer complaints with diplomacy
- Makes sure the workspace is clean and sanitized
- High school diploma or GED
- The ability to work as a team in a fast-paced environment
- Communicate in English both written and verbal skills
- Ability to stand for long periods of time
- Strong attention to detail
- Knowledge of point-of-sale (POS) systems, preferred
- Polite and courteous
- Basic math and computer skills
- Availability to work nights, weekends, holidays, etc.
- Ability to multitask
- Phone etiquette and exceptional customer service skills
