Sales/Catering Manager
The Hilton North Scottsdale at Cavasson is currently seeking an experienced Sales and Catering Manager to join our sales team. The Sales and Catering Manager is responsible for soliciting and contracting for the SMERFE market specializing in Wedding Ceremonies, Receptions, and Social Events. This person will detail and assist in executing group events while maximizing revenues and client satisfaction. The Sales and Catering Manager will lead team members in weekly banquet event order meetings as well as work cooperatively with operations and all other departments to ensure the highest level of service. Ideal candidates must have at least 1-3 years of Sales and Catering experience.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Prospect for and respond to Requests for Proposals and inquiries for Wedding Ceremonies, Receptions, and Social Events. Conducts site tours and is always selling the Granville Inn.
- Negotiates room blocks, room rates, function space, food and beverage prices, and hotel services within approved departmental booking guidelines. Confirm in writing to the client and all affected hotel departments all group requirements via group sales and catering contracts and booking recaps/group resumes.
- Conducts hotel tours and entertains qualified potential clients in accordance with the company and property policies.
- Executes the planning and coordination of meetings, events, and guest room-related activities to ensure the obligations of the hotel and client are met with satisfaction.
- Acts as liaison between Sales, Catering, and Operations Team by disseminating appropriate information as it relates to the meeting and/or event.
- Assists the Director of Sales in the preparation of the department budget and sales objectives, action plans, and overall strategies of the property.
- Coordinates with the operations manager to ensure groups are properly serviced. Oversee the service team in the absence of the operations manager.
- Develops the overall requirements needed to flawlessly sell and execute SMERFE events.
- Ability to multi-task multiple meetings and/or events simultaneously and at different planning stages.
- Identifies operational challenges and/or opportunities related to meetings and/or events and develops seamless solutions.
- Collects, secures, and processes event deposits and payments.
- Demonstrates and promotes a safe and secure environment for guests, team members, and hotel assets in compliance with workplace policies and procedures and regulatory requirements.
- Observes and secures associate compliance with procedures and methods.
- Participates in the Hotel Manager on Duty program.
- Assumes other special activities and responsibilities occasionally as directed.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Required Skills:

Required Experience:
- Bachelor’s Degree preferred.
- 1-3 years of work experience in catering/event management in the hospitality industry.
- Previous inn, hotel, or conference center experience preferred.
- Experience with Del-Phi sales booking systems and property management systems required.
