This is an ideal opportunity for candidates with experience in food service, deli associate roles, grocery, kitchen prep, or gourmet market jobs—but we’ll train the right person who brings the right attitude.

What You’ll Do:

• Provide exceptional, friendly customer service with a warm, welcoming attitude
• Slice meats, cheeses, and prepare fresh deli items with precision and care
• Maintain a clean, organized, and well-stocked work area
• Ensure accuracy when handling orders, portions, pricing, and packaging
• Work collaboratively with a team in a fast-paced, high-volume environment
• Uphold DeRomo’s standards for quality, cleanliness, and service excellence

• Prior deli, grocery, or food service experience is a plus—but not required

Minimum Requirements:

• Must be 18 years of age or older
• Must be authorized to work in the United States
• Must have reliable transportation
• Must wear non-slip shoes (not provided)
• Must have open availability, including evenings, weekends, and holidays
• Fluent in English; Spanish a plus

Physical Requirements:

To succeed in this role, candidates must be comfortable working in a dynamic, physically active environment and meet the following requirements:

• Manual dexterity to safely and efficiently handle slicing, cutting, and packaging tasks
• Visual acuity for near, far, and peripheral vision to ensure safety and accuracy
• Ability to clearly hear, speak, and communicate in a bustling environment
• Capable of lifting and moving up to 50 lbs below the waist, at waist level, and above the shoulders
• Comfortable working with fresh and raw products, including meats and cheeses (must not have food sensitivities or related allergies)
• Able to bend, stoop, kneel, twist, and reach at varying heights
• Confidently use a step stool or ladder when needed
• Able to stand, walk, and move continuously throughout shifts in tight or crowded spaces
• Thrive in a fast-paced environment where multitasking and agility are essential
• Comfortable working in varied conditions, including exposure to:

• Cold (walk-in coolers)
• Warm and hot prep areas
• Humid environments
• Occasional smoke and steam from hot food and cooking stations
