Engineering Supervisor

Ocala, FL

The Engineering Supervisor is primarily responsible for supervising personnel and assisting in performing preventative maintenance and repair at the World Equestrian Center. The Engineer Supervisor is expected to report to Chief Engineer or Supervisor upon arriving to work to receive work to be one for the day, as well as give or receive Shift Turnover communication.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Troubleshoot any maintenance problems and repair.
  • Supports Chief Engineer with engineering and maintenance operations of the hotel property, restaurant and grounds.
  • Supports hotel engineering maintenance programs and executes daily, weekly, and monthly checklist.
  • Perform walkthroughs updating logs and reporting any immediate issues to Director of Engineering / Chief engineer. 
  • Take appropriate steps towards making necessary repairs.
  • Perform Preventative Maintenance work orders: Monitors and maintain all engineering equipment.
  • Maintain guest rooms. Check HVAC equipment (boilers, chillers, air handling units, water pumps, exhaust fans; change filters, belts, bearings, fans, insulation, and drain pans.
  • Troubleshoot and repair locks as needed, TV’s, phones and lighting system.
  • Comfortable with manual handling
  • Flexible work hours

  • Must be able to lift, push, pull, and carry a weight of 50lbs.
  • Must be able to work walking and or standing continuously for a period of 8 hours.

  • Associate is often required to sit and use his or her hands and fingers to handle or feel.
  • Vision abilities required by this job include close vision.
  • Associate must talk and hear.

Qualifications, Education, Experience, Skills and Abilities

  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred with Valid EPA Certificate.
  • Computer literate and knowledge of (BMS) Building Management System
  • Minimum of 5+ years of maintenance engineering experience in hotel properties
  • Excellent level of spoken and written English
  • Ability to remain calm under pressure
  • Ability to prioritize when faced with multiple projects simultaneously
  • General understanding of HVAC/R, electrical, plumbing, and carpentry concepts
  • Certification in above trades, completion of seminar for specialized training such as Fire Safety Director,
  • FDNY COF’s for Sprinkler & Standpipe, back-up generator preferred
  • Knowledge of HOTSOS preferred
  • Ability to work in a high-paced environment.
  • Strong ability to Multitask.
