Operational Manager

The World Equestrian Center-Ocala is currently seeking at this time, Operational Manager to join our team.

The Hotel Operations Manager plays a pivotal leadership role in overseeing daily operations at the Riding Academy Hotel, Home Away from Home and Crownwood. This responsibility includes coordinating efforts across departments such as Housekeeping, Engineering, and Guest Services, ensuring seamless execution of daily tasks. Reporting directly to the Director of Lodging Operations, the Operations Manager emphasizes operational efficiency, consistent service standards, guest satisfaction, and fostering collaboration among departments. This role is central to aligning departmental teams with property standards while driving accountability, high performance, and exceptional service delivery among frontline staff.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Support department heads in managing daily staffing, room readiness, and issue resolution based on forecasted occupancy.
  • Serve as Manager on Duty (MOD) on a rotating schedule, including weekends and holidays.
  • Lead daily stand‐ups and operational huddles in the absence of department heads.
  • Proactively engage with guests in public areas, especially the lobby, resolving concerns and reinforcing a culture of hospitality.
  • Investigate service recovery issues and share findings with department leaders for follow‐up and service improvement.
  • Monitor guest satisfaction survey data and provide actionable insights to the Director of Lodging.
  • Partner with Engineering to execute preventive maintenance schedules across guestrooms, public areas, and back‐of‐house spaces.
  • Monitor open work orders and follow through on resolution status.
  • Conduct regular room inspections to ensure all maintenance, safety, and cleanliness standards are met.
  • Support the onboarding, coaching, and development of supervisors and team members through training, performance feedback, and cross‐training initiatives.
  • Foster a positive and collaborative work environment by reinforcing service standards, SOP compliance, and safety protocols.
  • Maintain awareness of departmental budgets and CPOR targets, ensuring expenses align with forecasted business levels.
  • Collaborate with the Director of Lodging and department heads on monthly reporting and operational planning.
  • Ensure compliance with brand standards, safety protocols, and regulatory requirements across departments.
  • Contribute to SOP creation and revision for improved operational consistency.
  • Maintain secure key control and cash handling procedures.
  • Support the Director of Lodging in collecting operational metrics and department updates.
  • Maintain open communication with the Director of Lodging and Human Resources on personnel updates and disciplinary actions.
  • Maintain a flexible work schedule including nights, weekends, and holidays.

Qualifications, Education, Experience, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Previous experience in a hotel management/supervisory role required.
  • Knowledge of computerized hotel management systems.
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Exceptional leadership skills.
