Equestrian Footing Maintenance Manager – Night Shift

The World Equestrian Center is looking for a Equestrian Footing Maintenance Manager to join out team!

The Equestrian Footing Maintenance Manager is responsible for ensuring the quality, safety, and consistency of equestrian arena footing across various disciplines. This role involves maintaining both natural and synthetic equine sport footing, operating specialized equipment, and collaborating with event organizers, trainers, and facility managers to provide optimal riding surfaces.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Perform nightly maintenance of both natural and synthetic equine sport footing across multiple arenas to ensure optimal performance and safety standards.
  • Understand and apply footing requirements for a variety of equestrian disciplines and breeds, with attention to high-level sport specifications.
  • Operate and maintain equipment such as water trucks, tractors (light and heavy), and a variety of arena grooming implements including Arena Werks, Reist, Reveal, and Dragonfly drags.
  • Monitor arena conditions throughout the night and make real-time adjustments as necessary.
  • Maintain clear and consistent communication with the day shift team to ensure seamless transitions and footing consistency.
  • Maintain accurate logs and reports on nightly maintenance activities, equipment usage, and any arena-related concerns.
  • Nighttime and weekend availability required. Must have a clean DMV record and pass a background check.

Physical Requirements:

  • Lift up to 50 lbs and work in physically demanding conditions, including extended periods of sitting, standing, or operating machinery
  • Position requires lots of walking. 

Qualifications, Education, Experience, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Experience in maintaining equestrian footing for competition and training arenas.
  • Prior experience in equine facility management is a plus.
  • Strong organizational and communication skills.
  • Ability to operate and maintain heavy machinery.
  • Knowledge of different footing types (sand, fiber, rubber, synthetic blends).
