Staff Accountant

Job Summary:

The Staff Accountant performs and maintains the Daily Accounting Activity of the property and assists with Month End Close duties and tasks.

 

Essential Functions:

  • Prepare and balance the Daily Sales Flash and distribute accordingly.
  • Upload the Daily Sales Flash into HIA (Accounting System).
  • Upload daily revenues and stats into Hotel Effectiveness.
  • Process all Accounts Payable invoices in HIA including uploading images into HIA.
  • Ensure that vendor statements are reconciled monthly.
  • Assist with weekly and periodic check runs by matching the invoices with the check.
  • Provide a monthly accrual list as part of the month end process.
  • Post all Banquet revenues and manage the Accounts Receivable process which includes posting credit card payments from Stripe, WordPress and Clover.
  • Provide analysis of Food and Beverage purchases versus sales rung-up in Micros.
  • Track pricing for high priced items such as meat and seafood (Proteins).
  • Record monthly Journal Entries as requested.
  • Tax Exempt Certificate Verification.
  • Upkeep and storage of Accounting Documents.
  • Office supply ordering for all departments.
  • Perform all duties assigned by Regional Controller and/or Accounting Manager.

Qualifications, Education, Experience, Skills, and Abilities:

  • High School diploma.
  • 2 years of experience in Accounts Payable or as a Staff Accountant.
  • Working knowledge of manual and automated accounting systems, preferably in a hotel/hospitality environment.  Intermediate Excel Skills.
  • Well organized with strong multitasking skills.
  • Detailed oriented with analytical and reasoning abilities.
  • Strong communication and presentation skills.
