Stewarding Manager | Equestrian Manor

Job Summary:

The World Equestrian Center – Ocala is seeking a hands-on and detail-oriented Stewarding Manager to lead the stewarding operations across our culinary venues, including the prestigious Polo Pony restaurant. Reporting to the Complex Executive Steward, this role is ideal for a hospitality professional with a strong background in sanitation, kitchen logistics, and team leadership.

As the Stewarding Manager, you will be responsible for maintaining the highest standards of cleanliness and organization in all back-of-house areas. You will guide and support the stewarding team, ensuring all equipment, wares, and kitchen spaces are maintained to meet health, safety, and operational excellence standards. Primary Responsibilities:

  • Ensure the cleanliness and sanitation of all kitchen areas, including walk-in coolers, floors, walls, rolling equipment, small wares, china, glassware, and silverware.
  • Monitor dishwashing and pot-washing operations to ensure proper temperature and chemical solution levels are maintained.
  • Oversee daily stewarding operations, ensuring team members are in assigned areas and equipped with necessary tools and supplies.
  • Maintain expert knowledge of stewarding equipment and ensure proper usage and maintenance.
  • Assist in training and onboarding of stewarding team members, promoting a culture of accountability and excellence.
  • Monitor and maintain cleanliness, sanitation, and organization of all assigned work areas.
  • Support stewarding team members with tasks as needed to ensure optimal service standards.
  • Maintain a steady pace to meet demand for clean wares, utensils, pots, pans, and kitchen tools.
  • Participate in additional cleaning and maintenance tasks as directed.
  • Promote safe work habits and monitor conditions related to sanitation, safety, breakage, and waste control.

Qualifications, Education, Experience, Skills and Abilities

  • Experience in stewarding or kitchen operations in upscale hospitality environments preferred.
  • Effective at listening to, understanding, and resolving concerns raised by team members and culinary leadership.
