Baker Supervisor | Emma's Equestrian Manor

The Baker Supervisor at Emma’s plays a critical role in overseeing daily baking operations, ensuring consistent product quality, and leading a team of bakers and pastry assistants. This position supports the Executive Baker and Executive Pastry Chef in maintaining production schedules, enforcing kitchen standards, and mentoring staff in a refined, high-volume pastry environment. 

Ideal candidates will have strong technical baking skills, leadership experience, and a passion for precision and consistency in a boutique culinary setting. 

Primary Responsibilities: 

  • Supervise daily baking of breads, viennoiserie, laminated doughs, and specialty pastries. 
  • Ensure all products meet brand standards for taste, texture, and presentation. 
  • Maintain production logs and prep schedules to meet daily and seasonal demand. 
  • Lead and support bakers and pastry assistants during shifts. 
  • Provide hands-on training and mentorship in baking techniques and kitchen protocols. 
  • Delegate tasks effectively to ensure smooth and efficient operations. 
  • Monitor ingredient levels and assist with ordering and receiving. 
  • Maintain organized prep areas and ensure proper storage and labeling of ingredients. 
  • Conduct regular checks on product quality, oven calibration, and baking consistency. 
  • Enforce food safety, sanitation, and ServSafe standards. 
  • Assist with the rollout of seasonal items, holiday offerings, and special event production. 
  • Collaborate with leadership on recipe refinement and production planning.

Qualifications, Education, Experience, Skills and Abilities 

  • 3–5 years of professional baking experience, preferably in a boutique or upscale pastry environment. 
  • Strong leadership and organizational skills. 
  • Proficiency in traditional and modern baking techniques. 
  • ServSafe Certification required. 
  • Culinary or baking education is preferred.
