Banquet & Sales Manager
DeRomo's Gourmet Market & Restaurant is a popular, busy, authentic Italian marketplace in Bonita Springs.
We are currently seeking a Banquet & Sales Manager to join our team. The Banquet & Sales Manager will proactively solicit and manage banquet related opportunities. Actively up-sells each business opportunity to maximize revenue opportunity. Achieves personal and team related revenue goals. Ensures business is turned over properly and in a timely fashion for proper service delivery. Responsible for driving customer/guest loyalty by delivering service excellence throughout each customer/guest experience. Provides service to customers in order to grow the account on behalf of the company.

Essential Functions:
- Book and coordinate a variety of events concentrating on weddings, holiday parties, anniversaries, and other high end social events and celebrations.
- Targets group/catering accounts, markets, or segments with heavy emphasis on proactive solicitation and account saturation
- Responds to incoming banquet opportunities for the property.
- Focuses efforts on banquets with significant potential sales revenue
- Develops effective banquet sales plans and actions
- Designs, develops and sells creative events
- Maximizes revenue by upselling packages and creative food and beverage
- Understands the overall market - competitors' strengths and weaknesses, economic trends, supply and demand etc. and knows how to sell against them
- Uses negotiating skills and creative selling abilities to close on business and negotiate contracts
- Handles complex business with significant revenue potential as well as significant customer expectations
- Develops relationships within community to strengthen and expand customer base for banquet/catering sales opportunities
- Executes exemplary customer service to drive guest satisfaction and loyalty by assisting the guest and ensuring their satisfaction before and during their program/event
- Organize meeting room bookings
- Key responsibilities will be coordinating all event room needs, as well as sales support
- This involves direct sales calls and blitzes. In addition, maintaining good working relationships with existing clients while exploring ways to increase revenue.
- To include but not limited to point of inquiry, quoting rates, contract development, detailing of needs, arranging of food and beverage, audio visual requirements, communication of client requirements to staff on day of event, posting of charges, presentation of bill and follow up.
- Responsible for working with all clients to provide professional client services support in the planning, organization, and management of events within the facility, monitoring the logistics of these events and all event related tasks after events are concluded. These duties will include but not be limited to working with space requirements, scheduling of events, equipment rentals, tastings, menus, invoicing, theme concept/decorating and servicing the client as necessary.
- Conduct walk in site tours & pre-con meetings
Our compensation package for Full-Time associates includes a competitive Salary, Medical, Dental, Vision, STD/LTD, Life, 401k with match, PTO after 90 Days, dining and travel discounts, special offers from our business partners, and discount programs for selected cell phone providers.
Salary: $60K plus commission
Qualifications, Education, Experience, Skills, and Abilities:
- Excellent organizational, communication, interpersonal and negotiating skills
- Must be able to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
- Must be detail oriented, have ability to communicate well with all levels within and outside the organization, and be able to problem-solve with team members and guests.
- Ability to discuss food and beverage with excellent knowledge
- Strong customer service orientation and skills
- Must be self- motivated and results oriented.
- Minimum of 4 years Catering/Banquet Sales Management experience
